Day 116 and 117

Doodling around with the silver pen... Ran out of white paper. I also did the stick book marker for the journal.
Yesterday, as I was taking the work down from the show I noticed one of Stephanie's kids butterfly blot painting. There was an obvious face in the head. What are the chances? A 3 year old made a painting by adding color, folding it in half and then it was cut into a butterfly shape by their teacher. But as I was taking it down I noticed how cool it was that a face had appeared. I scanned it and then saw a whole body and "cropped it". I'm going to play around with it and post it later.

Day 115 ~Journal~

I worked on the journal for ASW last night. I scanned it, but of course didn't scan so well because of the beads. I may take a picture later with the camera. It was fun making it and will probably make another one.

Day 114

Yesterday in between classes I was drawing some of these flowers. When the kids came into class I had them play with drawing flowers from their imagination. I told them to let loose and stretch their imaginations. Fun to play with and the class was relaxed enough so I could sit and color with them.

Day 113 Bug

Played with my new colors of H2O's. I love these watercolors. Unfortunately you can't see all the shimmer these colors have on the computer. But the gold really sparkles as do all the colors when you look at different agles. Just love them!
Also bought some new very fine tip markers that I fell in love with at this class we took at The Great American Stamp Store. Kim gave a class on NEW stuff that has come out. Favorite was playing with the distress inks on tags.... definitely addictive. Yeah, cleaned out my wallet yesterday... but worth it!!

Day 112 ~the Angel in the rock~

Some altered photos.
On a walk at the beach, I came upon a stone bridge. In the middle of the stone, I found this image that looked like a figure. I cropped it and played around with some other photos I took. After cropping the photos to scan, I was seeing a little story develop.

She comes to us when we are vulnerable.
Do we recognize the angels around us?
Do we notice when life hits us hard, that the Angel is there for comforting.
Do Angels work through each of us.
Do you recognize the Divine presence within yourself?

Day 110 and 111 *Fantasy Flowers*

More flowers. This is giving me the idea of doing large flowers in the kids playroom. I'll bring some samples to class to show the kids. Something here calling me to explore more.

Day 108, 109 *Joy of Life*

It is sooo very wonderful to see the coloring of the Earth. Everything is in bloom. I just want to soak it all in.... all the colors. I bought some new watercolors. There were quite a few shades of green and had a 40% off coupon. Still like the h2o's better. Watercolors are still pretty new for me, as I'm used to acrylics and overpainting. You have to plan more with watercolors...go with the flow.
If I had "do over", I'd change the purple flower in the back to blue... and chances are I'll do some more flowers... just warming up here :-)
Actually, it looks better up on the screen, so maybe purple is ok... today is supposed to be another beautiful day. Going out to be inspired by more flowers.

101 and 102

A mandala and an altered "me". We took a walk at the beach and on the boardwalk. It has been beautiful out. I took some pictures of my reflection in one of the arcades on the boardwalk, so you can see inside and the water reflected as well as myself in the window. This is the altered version.

Day 100 Altered daffodils

I took home the daffodil plant from the reception and photographed the flowers and then of course played around with altering them.

Day 98, 99,

After the reception, I sat and meditated through line drawing... it may eventually get some color.. and then again, maybe not. Sometimes I like just the line, black and white.
I also did a carving, but didn't print it yet.

the reception

Today was the reception for the art/photo show of preschool art. A group of preschoolers came to the rec for some art classes and I took photos of them while they worked. These are some of the panels that are hanging... It was a lot of work and I made the mistake of not pacing myself and also doing it at the same time my tax info was due... Needless to say, I was a basket case for awhile... but it was all worth it... and it was for Ginny.
This is the stuff I love to do...this is my bliss.

95,96,97....

Besides intensely working on the art/photo exhibit, I've spent a tiny bit of time in the back room, doodling around.... Right now, I am focused on little box shrines and bird houses in art class. The kids made these really cool birdhouses yesterday and there are a few left over that I will play with. here's the "doodle" for now and some photos.

Day 93 &94 Earth Chakra

We had to choose 4 postures to teach, in depth, for a 40 minutes presentation. I decided to focus on 4 postures that had to do with the 1st Chakra, which is the Root Chakra. It just so happens my turn is on the 22nd, Earth Day. I kept getting this idea to do a child pose drawing. I used the twinkling H2O's and the gold around the body sparkles which looks really cool. I may add to this, not sure......
I spent the day mounting artwork and photos for the reception on Sunday. It's taking a lot longer than I thought, so I'll be doing it again tomorrow. I'm going to take pictures of the boards, so you'll get an idea of what I'm doing. I spent a couple of weeks doing some art with preschoolers and taking photos. I really love doing this, but this wasn't the most ideal time to do it...(Tax stuff still isn't finished) They just seem to get in the way... but I do tend to procrastinate.

Day 92

I got this image in meditation on Sat. during yoga class. This didn't exactly turn out like I saw it, but along the same idea. I'm still wanting to do some collage work, but for now, it's easier to just draw or paint.
Sunday, I went to see The Celestine Prophesy and thought about one of the insights.

Day 90 &91

As I was doodling around last night, I was thinking this would be cool to make out of beads. I added the flower sponaneously today. Rushed it a bit and got a little sloppy....
