Day 149~ tags

worked more on the tags last night. Put the technique on the back.. fussed with a few.

Technique is the background using the distress inks:

Smear ranger distress inks onto a craft sheet. I used antique linen and weathered wood. Add a few drops of the alcohol inks, also Ranger. I used lettuce. Spritz with water and lay tag face down onto sheet to pick up the colors and iron. You can repeat this to build up layers.

I just have to finish up the back side and they will be in the mail....

Day 148 Head in the Clouds

Yes. I do go around with my head in the clouds. I'm pretty naive when it comes to some things and bend towards the side of trusting too much, giving someone the benefit of the doubt, making "excuses" for them. Sometimes I just don't care too much for reality... I rarely read a paper or watch the news (especially the slanted stuff...hello FOX) My news comes from The Daily Show! Sometimes I just don't want to know, so rather than bury my head in the sand, I'll keep my head in the clouds. A much better view!

148 Blooms

Two unusual flowers. I thought this pretty strange that the rose had one red petal. The other is a lipstick plant. See the cartoonish face on the right side? I love this plant... It's blooming in my "fame and reputation" area.... :-)

Day 147

A day of photography. Walked through the Marshlands taking pictures of trees and turkeys and horse shoe crabs and gosslings...and John. A wonderful peaceful day. I'm going to play around with some of the photos....

Day 146~ Rooted~

I love trees.
I love watching them change, love the reminder, the lesson they teach... The only constant is change.
I appear to be very rooted. Grounded. I am pretty constant. It is my head though, the unseen part, my mind that is scattered. Ideas fly around, I lose my train of thought, jump from one idea to another... usually have too much going on at one time and get overwhelmed by it all. I say yes to too much and then freak out because I'm afraid I won't get it all done. Scattered. Ungrounded. Unfocused.
I like being surrounded by trees, in the woods where it is quiet and still. That is where I feel most at peace and at one with everything.
I get upset when I see so many trees being cut down, cleared away for a driveway or some other stupid reason.
Trees are one of my favorite subjects to paint.
I was reading about the new moon in Gemini and smiled at the part of listening to the trees whispering in your ears. Tomorrow will be a good day to go visit some trees and listen to what they have to say...

Days 145, 146 Painted Lady

I am the one who loves paint.
It is my favorite medium and inevitably I am wearing it at some part of the day... in my hair, on my clothes, on my body... I am one who loves color. I share my love of paint with others, particularly with children.
I love to paint walls.
I will paint anything.
I am grateful for paint.

Days 142,143, 144

I am the one who follows the moon.
I want to bathe in the moonlight, mesmerized by it's luminous beauty. I love to see the expansiveness of the night sky.
Beyond all I can imagine.
Beyond Beyond.
What else is out there? How far can we fly?
How big can we dream?

Make a wish upon that star......
New Moon Sat. May 27

(Monday, I took some photos just waiting to be manipulated)

Day 136 - 141 ~ Water Barer

I am the Water Barer.
Sun in Aquarius with Virgo Rising.
We have had an abundance of rain and everything is so beautifully lush and green.
I like to take the garden hose and water the garden. Spraying water onto the fig tree, sometimes up in the air to see a rainbow.
I use water to replenish my spirit.
Allowing water to cleanse the debris of life from my body and soul. Washing away pain, sadness, doubt......letting tears mingle with the water running over my body... until I am cleansed again. Refreshed. Clear.
I would like to take my garden hose and create a cleansing shower for those who would like to be refreshed, renewed, restored to health and wholeness. I would like to cleanse the world of old pains, fear, hatred.
I would like to hose down Bush.

other than this, I also did a background paper, and a drawing for Root chakra... still pretty busy. Painting the bar area at Wellingtons.

Day 135 *Me Again*

Another altered photo.
I am the one who is comfortable with children and nature. I am childlike.
Yeah, I would like to live in LaLa Land where the sun shines and everyone is happy. Birds sing and we listen. Children laugh and express themselves without fear.
We are all kind to one another, tolerant of differences and even embrace them so we can broaden our horizons.
You can nest on my crown anytime.

Day 134 * ME *

Last night I printed out a photo of myself and painted over the background. I'm thinking of doing a series of these... I should have airbrushed the wrinkles away first :-)

Day 133

I played with a white glaze pen. Not so easy, white on white. Used H2O's to color in. The white pen acts as a resist...
kind of cool, but I like my black pen better..

Day 132 Fire Lesson

An alternative means.
Lessons learned in Fire 101.
We can't always use the most obvious method to reach our goals, so we need to be creative and come up with alternative means...

Days...127 - 131

Catching up here.
What I've been working on are tags.... almost finished with them. I started a pigma pen/ watercolor drawing that was inspired from a Fire ceremony. Not finished yet.
Today I spent the day painting.
A mental Health day for myself. A ME day. It is not done, but I want to take a look from the "screen" and make adjustments and play some more. Good to paint again...
I just came out of One Hell of a Week! Aside from a deep, intense and painful muscle spasm, I smashed my middle toe. Needless to say, I needed some time for myself to go within and that's what I did. Listening to meditative music, I painted the symbol for the Heart Chakra - Anahata here it is so far...

Day 126 More tags

I like the added crayon. Need some clever saying though.... just a word or two. The leaves are drawn with a glaze pen and has a raised surface and then painted in with H2O's.

Day 125 More flowers

More flowers on the other side of the room. While I was painting, feeling good, thinking how lucky I was to be able to paint on someone's wall, while listening to music and get paid for it! Life is good.

Day 123 and 124

Wed. night at altered books I worked on some tag ideas.
Thurs. I painted the large flowers in the playroom. The couch is going to cover some of the stems, so I need to put the leaves up high. Not sure if I should even add any more. I may wait to see where the couch comes to first. They were a take off of a vase.
I also painted in art class with the kids.
I'm still not sure about the tags, though. Still playing around with some ideas. I don't want to cover too much of the background, because that is the technique.

Day 121 & 122

Last night and this morning I was playing around with some backgrounds for tags. The ones I did last night were spritzed and painted...
These, that I did this morning will be used for the Colorerratica tag book. I used distressed ink and the alcohol inks. Now to decide what to do on top...

Day 118, 119, 120

When I was taking the show down, I noticed this butterfly print, and therefore scanned it and cropped it and altered it. There is another one, but it's not finished. Also did a drawing - not finished. It was fun finding this character and had my preschool class do some blot prints too.
